What FMS may not be used for. The first rule is the one that gets accounts terminated: do not install it on someone you have no right to supervise.

1. Supervise only those you are entitled to supervise
FMS is a parental control tool. Installing it to monitor an adult — a partner, an ex-partner, an adult child, a housemate, an employee — without their knowledge and freely given consent is prohibited. In many countries it is also a criminal offence. We terminate accounts for it, and we cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests about it.
You must not:
- install or configure FMS on a device you do not own and are not lawfully entitled to manage;
- supervise a person over whom you hold no parental or legal authority;
- conceal from a supervised person that the device is supervised, or attempt to defeat the indicators that show it;
- use FMS to stalk, coerce, intimidate or control another person;
- use FMS to gather evidence against a person in a way that is unlawful where you or they are located.
If you believe FMS has been installed on your device without your consent, write to [email protected]. We will help you identify and remove it, and we will act on the account responsible.
2. Use it on a child proportionately
Supervision is legitimate; using it to isolate or punish a child is not. You must not configure FMS in a way that prevents a child from contacting emergency services, and you must not use it to cut a child off from a parent, guardian or other adult they are entitled to reach. By default FMS keeps calls, messages and the camera available even during a full lock, and you should not remove that unless you have a specific reason.
3. Do not attack or abuse the service
- No probing, scanning or testing the security of our systems without written permission. Coordinated disclosure is welcome — write to [email protected].
- No reverse engineering, decompiling or circumventing technical protections, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it and cannot be contractually excluded.
- No automated scraping, bulk data extraction, or unreasonable load on the service.
- No attempt to access another family’s account or data.
- No reselling, sublicensing or offering FMS as a service to third parties.
- No use of FMS to build a competing product, or benchmarking for publication without our written consent.
- No interference with the agents, the update mechanism, or the enforcement logic on a device in order to misrepresent its state to another user.
4. Content you enter
Task names, notes, avatars and family unit names are visible to your family, and to us if you raise a support case. Do not enter unlawful content, content that harasses or degrades a family member, or the personal data of people outside your family. Do not enter passwords, payment card numbers or other secrets into free-text fields.
5. What happens if you breach this policy
Depending on severity we may warn you, restrict a feature, suspend the account, or terminate it. For covert monitoring of a non-consenting person, or where a child’s safety is at stake, we act immediately and without prior warning. Where we are legally required to report conduct, we do.
